Corona del Mar's football team can pull even atop the Bravo League standings Friday when it hosts No. 6 Crean Lutheran on Senior Night at Davidson Field.

Kickoff is 7 p.m. at Newport Harbor High School, according to the OC Register's Week 9 schedule. The Sea Kings (7-1, 2-1) dropped three spots to No. 10 in the county rankings after falling 21-17 to Capistrano Valley on Oct. 17 for their first loss of the season.

Crean Lutheran (6-2, 3-0) sits alone atop the Bravo League after beating La Habra 35-28 at SoFi Stadium in Week 8. A CdM win would give both teams one league loss and set up a three-way logjam with Capistrano Valley (7-1, 2-1), which plays Villa Park (7-1, 2-1) the same night.

CdM fell 21-17 to Capistrano Valley on Oct. 17 after starter John David Annett left with a third-quarter injury, the OC Register reported. Backup quarterback Luca Dinapoli finished the game. The Sea Kings held the Cougars scoreless in the second half but could not complete the comeback.

"I was really proud of our defense in the second half," CdM coach Kevin Hettig said after the Oct. 17 loss to Capistrano Valley.

Linebacker Tucker Murray, a Princeton commit, led the defense with 10 total tackles against the Cougars. Max Brengel paces the team with 59 total tackles through eight games, according to the OC Register's stat leaders.

Senior quarterback Caden Jones has thrown for 1,781 yards and 14 touchdowns through eight games for Crean Lutheran. Receiver Braylen Ross has 67 catches for 952 yards and seven scores. Running back Caleb Bey Jr. rushed for 170 yards and four touchdowns on 28 carries in the La Habra win, per the OC Register's Top 25 rankings.

The Saints jumped two leagues from the Epsilon to the Bravo this season and have not lost a league game yet.

Newport Harbor on Thursday

Across town, Newport Harbor (6-2, 3-0 Epsilon League) hosts Brea Olinda (5-3, 1-2) on Thursday, Oct. 22. The Sailors, ranked No. 21 in Orange County, can clinch at least a share of the Epsilon League title with a win. Quarterback Jordan Spigarelli ranks among the county's top passers with 1,877 yards and 21 touchdowns. Receiver Ryan Palmer has 29 catches for 582 yards and 12 scores.

CdM and Crean Lutheran kick off Friday, Oct. 23, at 7 p.m. at Davidson Field.
