The Newport Beach Arts Commission wraps its 2026 Summer Concert Series with a free show on the Civic Center Green on Sunday, Sept. 13.

Flashback Heart Attack, an Orange County-based 80s tribute band, takes the stage from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at 100 Civic Center Drive. The concert is the last of three Civic Center Green performances in the 2026 series, following Redneck Rodeo on July 19 and the Pacific Symphony on Aug. 9.

Admission and parking are free on a first-come, first-served basis. The city is offering spaces in the Civic Center parking structure, accessible only through the Avocado Avenue and Civic Center Drive entrance. Additional parking is available across the street near 12 Corporate Plaza Drive.

Two food trucks will be on site: Mad Dumplings and Italian Burger Grill. Attendees can also bring a picnic. No alcohol is allowed. The city recommends low chairs or blankets.

Kids get free face painting and balloon animals.

Flashback Heart Attack has been performing since 2010 and has won OC Weekly's Best Live Rock Band award 10 times, according to the band's profile. The city's event listing describes the act as a high-energy, crowd-engaging performance for all ages.

The Sept. 13 concert caps a busy stretch for the Arts Commission. At the commission's 59th annual Newport Beach Art Exhibition on Aug. 18, Virginia Hayter, a former Newport Beach Art Foundation member, praised the group's expanding reach. "The Arts Commission has built on top of what they invented and [are now] building on top of that and making it grow," Hayter said at the exhibition, as reported by the Daily Pilot. "The community should celebrate by coming out."

The Sept. 13 show closes out the Civic Center Green lineup, but the Arts Commission has one more concert on the calendar. Diego's Garage performs at Marina Park, 1600 W. Balboa Blvd., on Sunday, Oct. 11, from 4 to 5:30 p.m.
