Pacifica Christian High School will move Shakespeare's "Much Ado About Nothing" to the post-Civil War American frontier when its Triton Theatre program opens the fall production Thursday, Oct. 22, at the Rose Center Theater in Westminster.
The three-day run, Oct. 22-24, swaps the comedy's Sicilian setting for the American West. The school said in a blog post that Shakespeare himself regularly mixed time periods, and that connection to American history shaped the production's creative direction.
The Newport Beach school's performing arts director, Mrs. Ward, leads the Triton Theatre program.
The Rose Center Theater seats 419 at 14140 All American Way in Westminster. Tickets are available through the venue's BookTix page. All sales are final, and children 15 and under must be accompanied by an adult 25 or older.
