Round up your purchase at the register and Roger's Gardens will match every dollar for local bird conservation. That's the deal at "A Hummingbird Summer," the Corona del Mar nursery's seasonal celebration running daily through Sunday, Aug. 23.

The event at 2301 San Joaquin Hills Rd. centers on a large living display garden where visitors can watch hummingbirds feed among water-wise, nectar-producing flowers and California native plants. The nursery's horticulture team is on hand to help residents design pollinator-friendly gardens at home, with species like California fuchsia, hummingbird sage, manzanita, and scarlet bugler available for purchase.

At checkout, customers can round up their total to the nearest dollar. Roger's Gardens matches all donations collected, with proceeds going to Sea & Sage Audubon, the Orange County chapter of the National Audubon Society. The partnership has generated more than $20,000 for Sea & Sage since 2021, according to Newport Beach Indy.

Roger's Gardens owner and president Gavin Herbert Jr. launched the matched-donation model in 2021, when the inaugural campaign raised $7,559 for the chapter, according to a Roger's Gardens blog post recounting the program's origins.

Admission is free.

Sea & Sage Audubon, based at the San Joaquin Wildlife Sanctuary in Irvine, announced on its Facebook page that volunteers will staff an on-site table on Saturday, Aug. 8, offering guidance on which plants attract hummingbirds and how residents can support local wildlife. The chapter previously hosted tables on July 18 and Aug. 1.

The display garden and nursery are open 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily through the end of the event.
