Sherman Library & Gardens is bringing back its Botanical Ball for a second year, with $375 tickets nearly sold out for the Oct. 3 fundraiser in Corona del Mar.

The evening runs from 6 to 10 p.m. at the gardens, 2647 E. Coast Highway. Stu News Newport reported the schedule: guests start with champagne, signature cocktails, heavy appetizers and garden strolls at 6 p.m. A live auction begins at 7:30 p.m., followed by a DJ and dancing at 8:30 p.m.

Proceeds fund the nonprofit's programs in education, history, horticulture and art. The organization said funds will help expand offerings for children and families, enhance its library and art collection, and support the botanical gardens.

Sponsor spaces sold out last year.

Those exclusive open-air rooms and lounges come with dedicated table staff, and all sponsors receive tickets and recognition in print and digital materials. South Coast Plaza is one of the Presenting Sponsors for the ball, according to the gardens' Facebook page.

The event comes as Sherman Library & Gardens undergoes a $17 million revitalization. The nonprofit broke ground Feb. 26 on its "Grow The Gardens" capital campaign, the most significant remodel in its history. Construction is expected to wrap in late summer 2027.

Kirstie Acevedo, president of M.H. Sherman Company, said in a Feb. 18 statement announcing the project that "the Sherman Foundation's charter is to be a community resource."

Founded in 1966 by Arnold Haskell and named for his friend Moses Hazeltine Sherman, the gardens have served as a cultural center in Corona del Mar for six decades. The Newport Beach City Council recognized the institution with a proclamation naming it the "Cultural Hub" of Corona del Mar.
