Evolus Inc., the Newport Beach aesthetics company headquartered at 520 Newport Center Drive, reported $84.1 million in second-quarter revenue on Aug. 5, a 21% jump over the same period last year and above the $81.9 million Wall Street analysts had expected.

Shares surged 20% to $7.41 on Aug. 6, the day after the earnings report, pushing the company's market cap to $490 million, the Orange County Business Journal reported.

The quarter also brought a new partnership.

Evolus signed an exclusive licensing and distribution deal with Swiss pharmaceutical company IBSA to develop and commercialize Profhilo in the United States. The injectable treatment stimulates collagen production and is described in Evolus's SEC filing as "the market-leading skin quality injectable in Europe."

"Profhilo is an asset we've been actively pursuing because it represents the gold standard in the rapidly emerging skin quality category," President and CEO David Moatazedi told analysts during the Aug. 5 earnings call.

The company projects more than $100 million in peak annual U.S. revenue from Profhilo, with commercialization anticipated in 2030. The deal adds a third injectable category to Evolus's U.S. portfolio alongside its Jeuveau neurotoxin and Evolysse hyaluronic acid gels.

The earnings results showed the company's third consecutive quarter of positive adjusted EBITDA, which came in at $4.7 million, a $12.6 million improvement year over year. The GAAP operating loss narrowed to $4.5 million from $10.2 million in the second quarter of 2025.

Revenue broke down to $75.2 million from global toxin sales and $8.9 million from injectable hyaluronic acid gels. Gross profit margin hit 68% on a GAAP basis, helped by approximately 120 basis points from a tariff refund recognized during the quarter.

Evolus raised its full-year 2026 revenue guidance to between $330 million and $337 million, up from a prior low end of $327 million. The company reaffirmed its 2028 outlook of $450 million to $500 million in total net revenue.

On the growth side, more than 18,600 customers have purchased from Evolus since launch, with U.S. account penetration above 60% and reorder rates above 70%. The company's consumer loyalty program grew by 77,000 members during the quarter to more than 1.5 million total.

Evolus also expanded its Symatese partnership on Aug. 4 to bring its Estyme gel collection to Canada, Australia and New Zealand, with commercialization expected in 2028 pending regulatory approvals. The combined neurotoxin and dermal filler market across those three countries is roughly $500 million annually.

The company held $45.2 million in cash as of June 30. Its next regulatory milestone is FDA review of Evolysse Sculpt, with no public timeline disclosed.
