The Environmental Nature Center of Newport Beach is turning its five-acre campus into a wine trail on Sunday, Sept. 27, with proceeds funding environmental education for local children and families.

The Wine Walk, produced with Hi-Time Wine Cellars and Southern Glazer's Wine & Spirits, runs from 4 to 7 p.m. at 1601 E. 16th St. Tickets cost $115 per person and cover all tastings, small bites and entertainment.

Tickets are limited.

Guests walk the center's trails, stopping at tasting stations pouring selections from more than two dozen wineries. Precept, Wente, Avaline, Prestige Wine Imports and Native Hands are among the labels, Stu News Newport reported. Live music from SideNote Keys/Bass plays near the stream. The walk ends at the firepit with dessert and Kean Coffee.

Wines sampled during the event will be available for purchase through Hi-Time Wine Cellars, with pickup at the retailer's Costa Mesa store.

An online silent auction opens Tuesday, Sept. 22, and closes the evening of the walk, Sept. 27. The auction features local goods and experiences, though a full item list has not been published.

All proceeds from both the walk and the auction go to the ENC's environmental education programs. The center, founded in 1972, sits on a campus with 15 California native plant communities, wildlife habitat and walking trails.
